SAFETY TECHNICAL SUPPORT I SPECIALIST

Safety Support I Specialists are responsible for establishing, managing, and monitoring programs and activities that ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations, corporate safety and health policies, and enhancing company safety culture.Safety Support I Specialists are responsible for establishing, managing, and monitoring programs and activities that ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations, corporate safety and health policies, and enhancing company safety culture.

Safety Support I Specialists Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in the development, implementation, tracking and reporting of lead indicators.
  • Assist with the Emergency Response program at the Headquarters including organization of floor wardens and first aid providers. Help liaison between departments on HQ emergency response protocols.
  • Participate in the development of a Recognition Program for Outstanding Service - Work with RSDs and/or ASMs to find locations/individuals to be recognized for their safety service.
  • Lead the development and track implementation of First Student initiatives and pilot programs, as needed.
  • Serves as lead for the development of the monthly performance review narrative.

Safety Support I Specialists Education/Experience/Skills Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of occupational safety and health experience
  • Must be computer literate with advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Completed the OSHA 30-Hour Course in General Industry
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with all levels of management.
  • Highly organized, deadline-oriented, and possess high attention to detail.
