The Director of Data Analytics & Operations Support is responsible for high level data analysis and strategic input based on analytic findings. Works closely with key business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand the drivers for business change and enables strategic business goals and objectives leveraging technology. Manage Process Improvement (PI) program to deliver efficiency/savings and improve program effectiveness. Oversees First Transit’s Labor Efficiency Improvement Initiatives and drives their success.

  • Provide vision for building highly usable reports, dashboards, and custom data products which are designed around stakeholders’ needs
  • Assist the organization in understanding and leveraging the “Dashboard” usage and identify opportunities for improvement through descriptive & predictive analytics
  • Manage, lead, and continue development of a metrics and performance review process that will allow high quality review of the business by the Executive and Regional Leadership Teams
  • Interfaces across the organization to answer challenging analytical questions related to the business/operational data
  • Identifies business trends, conducts root cause analysis of business/operational challenges, draws conclusions about business operations and suggest changes or improvements that could improve performance, efficiency, quality, or compliance of operations.
  • Drives & facilitates the rollout of the Lean OPS Initiative and assist local and regional leaders with field deployment.
  • Tracks the Labor Efficiency Improvement initiatives (including Lean OPS) progress and makes improvement recommendations where appropriate.
  • Responsible for the continued evolvement of the Labor Efficiency Improvement & Lean OPS initiatives to realize company strategic objectives.
  • Consults on the use of Lean and Six Sigma Techniques to improve process performance
  • Meet with clients to explain technology options and the value they potentially bring.
  • Work with locations on the appropriate use of technology to get the most value from the products

Experience & Skills Required:      

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, or other quantitative fields (statistics, science, economics, finance, engineering, mathematics). Strong leadership and people management expertise
  • Experience with BI/data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
  • Proven track record in leading initiatives, project management, managing cross-functional relationships and providing coaching and mentoring
  • Experience in Public Transit operations management (preferred)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills.
  • Displays the ability to inspire, motivate and influence others
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work with all levels of employees
  • Proficient in MS Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, ETC.)
  • Lean Six Sigma Designation Preferred
  • Travel approx. 25% of time
