The Policy Writer will develop, review, modify, and maintain new and current company policies and guidelines; drafts and disseminates internal communication as required.

Major Responsibilities

  • Writing clear and concise policies, guidelines, and rules for performing activities within the company
  • Developing and modifying the existing policies and guidelines to adhere to current operating & documentation standards
  • Evaluating different types of policies and making recommendations for changes regarding the policies to management
  • Ensuring revised and new policies are published and implemented.
  • Keeping records of all policy revisions, updates, and deletions
  • Handle internal Operations’ communications to enhance employee relations and engagement.
  • Use internal tools, such as email, SharePoint, Employee Portal, High-Risk Events Portal, and employee communication App(s) to maximize our company’s internal communication effectiveness.
  • Supporting the Business Continuity Plan / COOP development and update process.
  • Travel may include up to 25%.

Minimum Experience & Skills Required

  • Multiple years’ experience in a public transit operations environment preferred
  • Three-year experience in policy, legal, or technical writing
  • Two-year of experience as an Internal Communications Specialist preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree, especially in a field that emphasizes communications, writing and research, or equivalent experience
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional writing and analytical skills
  • Above average organizational skills
  • Proficient in the English language
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and reach company deadlines with minimum supervision
  • Possessing initiative, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
