The Director of DOT Regulatory Affairs and Motor Vehicle Safety will identify collision trends and reduce collisions through training and enhancement programs, ensure the company is compliant with all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and other safety related authorities, and have overall responsibility for driver file compliance and oversight of DMO. The Director of DOT Regulatory Affairs and Motor Vehicle Safety will also have overall responsibility for DOT and FTA drug and alcohol program administration. Finally, they will able the primary support and liaison for FGA businesses during DOT or FTA audits and other regulatory activities.
- Responsible for all FMCSA and DOT compliance related matters.
- Review all driver violations with regard to CSA and Company Policies.
- Maintain and file reports to various States concerning annual vehicle registrations for operating authority in Intrastate travel.
- Oversee and support the D&A Manager
- Prepares collision trend analyses and develops prevention initiatives.
- Review all new DOT/FMCSA proposed rulemakings to determine what or if effects they may have on our business and, if necessary, provide comments.
- Provides support and guidance to Region Safety Managers.
- Responsible for Injury Prevention updates, material, and database support.
- Serves as field contact for Safety Material support.
- Oversees Driver Maintenance Online program.
- Plans and participates in driver development programs.
- Maintains Instructor and Coach Evaluators Smith System certifications.
- Reviews and follows up on Incident Alerts.
- 7+ years’ experience in safety
- College degree to equivalent
- Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and FTA compliance.
- Ability to travel 25% of the time
